Code of Conduct
At Rehearals and Concerts, every student must do the following:
- Be prepared with pencils for marking music. These should be kept in their instrument case. Most students are not serious about marking changes and continue to repeat the same mistakes over and over resulting in lost rehearsal time. THIS RULE WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED!
- PRACTICE and prepare their music. Students should take their orchestra music to their private teacher for help. It is very difficult and challenging repertoire, and must be part of their regular practice routine. All students will be individually heard on the most difficult passages for seating. Students must know their music up to tempo for their audition.
- Tape the music together for efficient page turns.
- BE ON TIME! The same students are habitually late. Everyone is expected to be in theirs seats ready to play at 6:50pm.
- Turn cell phones off in rehearsal. No student is to leave rehearsal without permission.
- Inform us of any absence from rehearsal immediately. Excessive absences will not be tolerated. Email is the most efficient method of contacting us.
- Many young ladies have worn inappropriate attire to our concerts. Only long black dresses or long skirts with black blouses will be accepted at concerts; dark suits and ties should be worn by the young men.
